(Following is the transcript of the segment "Analysis by Winnie Monsod" which aired on News on Q following President Arroyo's last State of the Nation Address on July 27, 2009.)
As expected, the President put the best face she could on the accomplishments of her administration – this is not unusual, as all her predecessors have done the same thing. Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales asked her to admit to her failures, but the last time she apologized to the country for inappropriately talking to a Comelec Commissioner, that apology was twisted beyond recognition, and was interpreted as admitting to cheating. So I didn’t think she was going to make the mistake of admitting a shortcoming. But were the accomplishments that she bragged about accurate? On the whole, they were, and her administration certainly had many – particularly on the fiscal, financial and monetary side, as well as on the infrastructure side, such as roads, airports, bridges. But one would expect such accomplishments. After all, the amount of resources she had at her disposal since 2001 – that is to say, the sum of the national government annual obligation budgets from 2001 to 2009 – amounts to P8.963 trillion (almost 9 trillion pesos – that’s 9 with 12 zeroes after it), with the amount for capital outlays equal to P971 billion, or almost 1 trillion pesos. So there must have been some accomplishments. The issue is not whether she accomplished anything, but whether she accomplished what she set out to do, what she said she would do. Unfortunately she did not get to that part in her SONA, and to be fair, her predecessors were just as cavalier about comparing accomplishments with targets – that seems to be the sakit of most politicians – they make promises and then forget about them. As in the BEAT THE ODDS legacy that she said she would leave to the Filipino people by 2010. Notice that she made no mention whatsoever of BEAT THE ODDS . B - Balanced budget, E- Education, A- Automated Elections, T- Transportation and Digital Infrastructure, T- Terminate Hostilities with the NPA and MILF, H- Healing the wounds of Edsa's 1, 2 and 3, E- Electricity and Water for all, O- Opportunities for livelihood and ten million jobs, D- Decongestion of Metro Manila, D- Develop Subic and Clark As I said earlier, on the whole, the accomplishments she talked about were accurate. With two very glaring, and very important exceptions. The first is that she reported that the number of poor decreased by 2 million during her watch, and I almost fell off my chair. The latest objective data we have is based on 2006, and official figures show that the number of poor people increased by almost 3 million people – about 2.8 million people, actually. Where she got her data, I have absolutely no clue. But I can state categorically that those figures are wrong. The second glaring inaccuracy is in the claim on jobs created. As I have said before in this show, 2.8 million new jobs were created between 2004-2008, or about 700,000 jobs every year. That is a far cry from the SONA claim that more than 1 million new jobs a year were created. And an even further cry from her BEAT THE ODDS target of 10 million jobs in six years. Then, there are what I would call the attempts to slide over the unpleasant facts. One such is the education situation. Her target was education for all. What she said was that no developing country would be likely to attain that target by 2015. What she didn’t say is that (a) she promised that everyone who was of school age should be in school by 2010, and that (b) the progress in that direction has been at a snail’s pace – (net participation rates went up by 3.54 per cent in five years when it should have gone up by 18 per cent in six years). Moreover, it is very cold comfort to say that 700,000 poor families have been helped by the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino program – very cold comfort , that is, to the other 4.1million families who live below the poverty line. On the other hand, she must be given credit for spunk. She turned the tables on her critics, and gave them as good as she got. She is one tough cookie, and she wasn’t about to go out with her tail between her legs as it were. Her critics would call that being unrepentant and defiant, and kapal muks, and say that it was beneath the Presidential dignity, stooping to mudsling the way she did – but her Congressional audience clearly enjoyed her performance as much as she did. Certainly, that's fair. Judgment is based on performance and not below the belt. Sana lang po, kung mararami kayong alam na solutions sa mga problema ng bansa, baka po pwede iparating nyo sa kinauukulan, sa mayors, congress, senate kesa kung anu-anong mga criticisms. Eh kung mapansin ang mga suggestions nyo at naimplement di ba you'll feel good. Mamahalin pa kayo ng mga tao mas yado ka naman hi-blood eh...para ka nga tigre....nag rereklamo ba kami ...ipinamumukha lang namin ang mga ang kapalpakan ng administrasyon...tapos na po lahat ng pag aaral ang mga anak ko.d mo yata alam na tlagang kulang ng silid aralan ang mga mag aaral ngayon eh....me na feature sa tv dyan sa Pinas na nagsisikap mag aral sa araw at sa gabi naman eh nagkkalkal ng basura ang isang 10 taon gulang na bata...yun pang nakuha niya sa basurahan ang baon niya sa iskwela....nagrreklamo ba kami ng pansarili lamang... d ba ito eh para sa kinauukulan na dAPAT ALAMIN NILA ANG KALAGAYAN NGAYON NG BAYAN.....
talaga sir, naha highblood talaga ako sa mga tulad mong puro daldal. eh kung para sa bayan nga ang gusto mo, eh di tumulong ka ano? Ako kasi, in my very small way, tumutulong ako, pero di ako nagdadadaldal. Akala mo ba, pati mga kabataan, naaasar na sa mga kritiko kasi sa totoo lang puro lang kayo pag-iingay. Kung nasa abroad ka, baka may mas magagawa ka kasi mas malaki ang kita mo di ba? Sa totoo lang, nakakasawa na talaga ang mga kritiko. Ako eh hindi maka GMA, pero rasonable po ako. Sino sa tingin ang pwedeng pumalit na matino? Sino ba? baka ikaw, eh di kumandidato ka sa 2010, para naman we can put to the test and good use ang talino mo, di ba?

let's not judge Mam Winnie...Lahat nman tayo may magagawa para sa bayan nten eh..kahit sa mga simpleng gesture lang.Like, Ms Winnie, as a professor, she might enlighten her students about what's happening in our country. If you read carefully on her comments, it is merely factual. While, all this are true, saan ba tayo lahat magbebase, sa sinasabi, o sa data na pinag aaralan? Give her the benefit of the doubt. She is a mother and an educator, respeto nman po. I never got the chance to meet her, but I see the sincerity in her when she is talking about the country's status.Ndi lang sa pulitika nakikita ang pagmamalasakit sa tao. Kung minsan, kung sino pa ung simpleng tao, yun pa ang mas maraming nagagawang kabutihan.

As far as am concern, her SONA should have been;
S-imply O-verated N-arrated A-nnouncements Ok! finished! Khalas! She must step down and the majority of the filipinos can decide who will be next in-line, to her presidency. Always, bear in mind that since "Money is the root of all evil", "Crime does not pay"! She will be the one, written in our history as the "Hello Garci Culprit" "NBN ZTE Scammer", and others. I hope we can look for a better President like the charisma of ERAP(para sa mahihirap!), the positivity of RAMOS(kaya natin ito!), and the strong conviction of AQUINO(I'm just a widow, who overturned the Dictator!). AMEN! GMA is full of it.. it's all empty promises... nonsense.. she doesn't even do anything to help the poor... she just want to spend our money... i don't believe her nor give a cent on her whatever..

napakasimple nang problema natin..masyadong maraming matatalinong Pinoy na kahit sino na yatang Presidente ang iyong ihalal puro mali ang tingin sa kanilang ginagawa. You are perfectly right on your observations, Oops.
The President's critics are detractors and one of the real hindrances to the country's progress. Lacson, Erap, Escudero, the Cayetanos, and their likes have done nothing to help, except to criticize the President and mag-papogi and dumakdak on television. What have they accomplished on the economy, health care, education, etc.? Nothing! You guys are so embrassing, the salots in our progress. May your tribe vanish from Congress! eh bakit naman ako ang didiskarte para sayo, sabi nga nila buntot mo hila mo. Ipinapadiskarte ko ba sa yo ang buhay ko? Kaya nga may utak ka eh para gamitin mo, isama mo na mga utak ng mga anak mo tutal pinaaral mo na sila. Pag wala pa naman kayong naisip eh, may tawag na dyan. Hindi ko na lang sasabihin kung ano yun.
E kung hindi tumakbo si Gloria ulit nuon 2004 eh namatay kaagad presidente natin ngayon na si Fernando Poe eh malamang nasa kangkongan na ang Pilipinas at lahat ng nasa pwesto eh mga artista. Alam ng Diyos ginagawa nya na nilihis tayo sa kangkongan.
may tanong ako sayo..can you tell me ..who you think would make a good pinas president..i am not an arroyo fan but i think she's got more balls than the previous president..kung ako ang tanungin mo,all of us need to change , they way we vote..we pinoy/pinay seems easily mislead..sometimes we vote for the wrong reason (ex) guapo or sikat does not matter wether he/she knows how to run the country.. ..could you honestly tell me that the other politicians are better than GMA..if so sino? and lastly rather than complaining and blaming other for our misfortune ..why don't we all started doing something constructive for ourselves and country..

Don't expect too much...Take in consideration ang nangyaring Global Crisis! It happened during her term. At least she is able to handle it. Hindi nassolve ang problem in an instant. And I bet, she also felt frustrated that hindi nangyari lahat ng gusto nya for the country. But as you can see, she is trying hard and doing her best to carry out her duties and responsibilities, kaysa patulan nya ang mga walang nagawang critics nya for the country. We should be all thankful that she became our president in times of crisis. Kung hindi sya, saan kaya pupulutin ang Pilipinas? It was all God's will.

With regards to the pasaring to her critics, she just did the right thing! She didn't even commented on any of her critics "paninira" which were already below the belt and remained in control, as if hindi sya nasasaktan. Pero tao lang din sya, na nakakaramdam ng sakit. But because she's a leader she set aside her emotions and went on doing her job. SONA was the best time to air her grievance to her critics. It's only one time pero "supalpal" silang lahat. She did a really good job on this.
I agree your idea nationalista....sumusunod lang si pangulo sa kasabihang BE KIND TO ANIMALS... sinisiraan nila ng sinisiraan...ayun di pa rin sya natitinag BAKIT? dahil di papayag ang panginoon na ang mananaig ang mga traidor....para sa mga critics --di ba cnabi n ni gloria na di na sya tatakbo sa nxt election? e ano pa ang ikinakatakot nyo? e na ang panahon para kayo naman ang mamamahala tingnan lang natin ano ang magagawa nyo sa bayan...

It is very sad to see our country in this kind of situation. Lagi nalang sinasabi ng mga tao not to lose hope; that there is always hope for our country. But look at what is happening, are we better off than before? Is there what we so-called "change"? Hay.. Lagi nalang ganito. Kaya I'm not interested anymore sa SONA na yan. Puro pangakong napako. Sorry if i seem pessimistic. I'm just fed up with whats happening in our country.

hindi ako pro or anti kay GMA, pero sana tingnan din natin malalim pang dahilan kung bakit nasa ganitong kalagayan ang ating bansa.. oo ngat madaming kuruption sa bansa, mayaman man o mahirap ka man magiging kurupt ka din kapag nag padala ka sa kapangyarihan ng pera.. sa isyu naman nung sa kahirapan.. ang opinyon ko lang dun eh kaya sinasabi ng mga raleyista or mga namumuna na dumadami ang mahihirap eh isipin nyo naman kung ilang bata ang ipinapanganak sa pilipinas kada araw o sa loob ng isang buwan.. di ko alam kung sasangayon kayo sa analohiya ko, pero sabihin na nating may 5 pamilya na may tig 2 anak mahihirap sa kasalukuyan ( below poverty line ) so ang suma total natin ngayon ay 20 taong mahihirap, tapos nangati si misis at mister at hindi na inisip ang magiging kinabukasan ng kanilang pamilya at naka gawa pa lahat sila ng tig 2 pang anak, so ilan na ngayon ang below poverty line? 30 na sila so sa susunod na talaan ng mahihirap na dati ay 20 lang ang mahihirap eh naging 30 na sila! at kung ang budget ng isang bansa ay kaya lamang suportahan ang iilang bilang ng tao o talagang mababaon tayo sa utang dahil kailangan nating umutang para masuportahan ang karamihan.. at kung iaasa lang natin lahat sa gobyerno eh wala mangyayari sa ating lahat, kailangan nating mag tiyaga talaga.. sa infrustructure naman, ang di ko lang maintindihan eh kung bakit halos lahat ng politiko ay ginagawa ang kanilang proyekto kung kailan malapit nang matapos ang termino nila, nagiging pampa pogi nalamang ito sa kanila.. sa totoo lang, matagal ko ang hinintay matapos ang SLEX dahil sa tagal na sinurvey at ginawa yung SLEX na yan, ilang beses na ako kamuntikang mabangga sa mga concrete barrier nila pag gabi, pero, isa ko pang hinihintay talaga eh yang reconstruction ng PNR na matagal nang namatay ang linya nila sa aming lugar, kaya ko yan hinihintay eh dahil mas mapapadali ang byahe ko kung dito ako sasakay.. ang probleme lang eh imbis na madali itong matapos eh kaliwat kanan ang bumabatikos sa pag gawa dito, oo nga at mukhang may iregulidada sa mga budget nito, pero imbis na mag tulungan ang mga kongresista o mga pulitiko para mabilis na mapausad ang pag tapos nito eh lalo pang ibinaon sa hukay para matagal matapos, di man lang nila naisip kung ano ang benepisyo nito sa mga byaherong tulad ko... sa poll automation naman namadaming bumabatikos, ang masasabi ko lang sa mga ayaw nito, eh kung ayaw nyo eh di kayo ang umupo sa eleksyo at mag bilang ng mga boto at mag balik ng mga CoC, nakita ko na ang hirap dito dahil isang guro sa public school ang nanay ko at pag naupo sya sa eleksyon eh minsan hindi sila nauwi para lang matapos ang bilangan at minsan ay madami pang magagalit na mga bantay ng politiko na sinasabing mali ang bilangan daw, bukod pa ang peligro sa pag babalik ng CoC.. sa mga raleyista naman, oo ngat tama ang pinag lalaban nyo, pero sa pag pipintura nyo sa mga pader, pag lalagay ng kung ano-anong poster sa kalye, sa palagay nyo ba kaninong pera ang gagamitin para linisin yun ha? kung alam nyo eh sana mag dalawang isip kayo sa pag didikit at pag pipinta sa mga pader, at kung maari lamang eh wag na kayong mag hakot ng tao na wala naman kaalam alam sa pinag lalaban ninyo para lang masabing madaming dumalo, dahil kadalasan eh imbis na nakakatulong sila eh lalo pang nakaka sira sa pinag lalaban nyo dahil madami un ay basag ulo kaya minsan ay lalong pumapangit ang imahe nyo sa tao.. tanong ko lang sa inyong lahat, sabihin na nating sinabi ni GMA ang tunay na kalagayan ng bansa natin, simula sa pagiging lubog natin sa bansa natin hanggang sa kasalukuyang bilang ng tao sa bansa natin, sa palagay nyo ba ano ang magiging hakbang ninyo, ano ang iisipin ninyo, kakayanin nyo bang marinig ang buong katotohanan at sabihin sa inyo na hindi lahat ng bagay ay inaasa lamang at ito ay pinag hihirapan din? sorry sa lahat, medyo naaasar lang ako sa mga nababasa ko sa dyaryo at napapanood ko sa balita sa tv... I enjoyed watching the President's SONA and knowing her accomplishments that I was not aware before. I had fun listening to her punches and tirades on her critics - it was about time that she did those. Her critics have been very vicious, the good deeds that she accomplished are always maligned and get twisted. Thumbs up, Pijiemey! I hope our kababayans realize this cultural and social disease of our society. I hope our government employees start to change, from the low level clerk all the way to the highest official of our country. My suggestion is for heads of all government offices to discourage corruption in their own place of business. Put up huge postings requesting the public to report personally to him/her any employee who has asked for lagay. Be sure the chief follows through any report of anomaly immediately. That makes us the highest form of animal. For her, there is a need to criticize because: a. GMA is a public figure & a public interest. b. GMA is a head of state who oversees and manages the country's affair. c. GMA is accounted for whatever it is for the country's concern. d. GMA uses our taxes for public projects and budgets. e. GMA has been in the post for more than 8 years. Much can be done in these years. Bakit si Ms. Winnie ang nagcriticize eh wala namang binatbat 'yan even sa kanyang dating public post: a. WM is in the broadcast industry and it's her shows format. b. WM has the credibility to execute statistical data as an economist. c. WM worked as Socio-economic Planning Secretary in Aquino's time & was awarded Cabinet Secretary (1988 & 1999) by Philippine Free Press for that commitment as well in NEDA as Director-General. Economic stability is the key here. Economy now can't be stabilized without Ms. Winnie & other economic teams' works before. If something's messed up in the ZTE, blame it to NERI who was with NEDA. Ms. Winnie can't do anything about Senators. They don't have platforms for the country; they're not presidents. They don't have BEAT THE ODD subjects for it was GMA who made those for her to target & do all of them. Ms. Winnie can't give you grades for those senators. Ms. Winnie's here to analyze. Just remember the Broadband Scandal, Hello Garci Scandal and Political Killings etc..and do you believe people she created a 700,000 jobs per year? that's why there's a lot of nurses, teachers, engineers and doctors chose to work abroad rather to work in our own country.

Indeed, truth hurts, esp. when said by an "ex-Pinoy". Your blog is a real MUST READ by all Filipinos in the Philippines. A friend of mine from a prayer group just got back last week from her 2-week vacation there in the Philippibnes. She left the country when she was 5 years old; she is now 38. She shared the same observations as Nasty about the deplorable condition of the country and most of "our" people. (Unlike Nasty, I am not an "ex" even though I carry a green passport). My friend said she appreciates what she has and enjoys now after visiting the Philippines. One of my prayers is to see a progresive Philippines whenever I go and visit it. I was there for two weeks in January to attend a high school reunion. I saw an improvement in our barangay - clean streets in Las Pinas in Metro Manila. Nasty is right, there is a seeming fence of individuality there - the cleanliness is not reflected in the Greater Manila. Nasty was very bold, may totoong kayabangan. But we need ex-Pinoys like him to awaken us! Let's encourage Nasty to go back and visit Philipines. Work together to improve your lives - clean up your yards and your political system. Be united and help one another. No more of that crab mentality. No more of that kurakot. To government employees: perform a genuine public service, no more lagay! Fellow citizens, we all deserve the government we choose( or not).. Taking a look at all the comments,mayroong may sense, mayroong nonsense, mayroong rude , mayroong courteous, mayroong crass. So, the government gives us what we deserve. sometines they are rude, sometimes they are courteous. The other countries' officials travel using vehicles made locally. So, in Germany, it is Mercedes, in the US, Caddillacs, France, (Renaults?), sa Pinas yung jeep na gawa ni Sarao... We should improve on it, so we will not feel bad to transport other heads of stats ina Pinoy jeep.

PGMA's last SONA says it all. Indeed, I was so glad when she finally hit back his critics. It was long over due actually and I say, she shouldn't had waited that long to retaliate. A MUST READ FOR ALL FILIPINOS 'The Philippines is a nation of starstruck ignoramuses' by Dero Pedero Of Philippine Star Last July 23, I wrote about Nasty (short for Anastacio), a balikbayan from Los Angeles , who, while vacationing in Manila , had nothing to say but negative comments about the Philippines and the Filipinos. The article elicited a deluge of comments from our readers. Though some agreed with his curt observations, most were enraged at the repulsive way he acted and whined. For me, he was the classic epitome of the 'crow perched on a carabao,' thinking and acting nauseatingly superior just because he has become an American citizen, inequitably comparing everything here to how they are in the first world. I was particularly irked by his repulsive 'know it all' attitude and peeved no end by his irritating Waray-American twang. Those who have not read that article may access philstar.com and click archives, then select July 23 and click Life_style_. The article is en_title_d 'Little Brown Americans.' As a backgrounder, here is an excerpt: The next day, I took them on a little city tour and accompanied them to do extra shopping at the duty-free shop. They were to leave two days later for their respective provinces (Randy is from Pampanga, Nasty, from Samar ). 'God, ang dilem-dilem naman ditow (it is so dark here)!' screamed Nasty in his characteristic Taglish slang, 'At ang inet-inet pa (and so warm)! All throughout the day, Nasty complained about everything. He griped that all Filipinos he encountered were dense and inefficient (I hope that didn't include me!); that the traffic was horrendous and drivers 'drove like they were late for their funerals'; that the pollution from the smoke-belching vehicles was irritating his dainty, surgically-pinched nose. I even felt happy that people still came to the defense of your Philippines ! If you noticed, I now refer to the Philippines and Filipinos as your country and your people. Every time I went back there for vacation, my Filipino-ness always took the better of me (blame those damn green mangoes smothered with bagoong!) and made me forget that I am, in all reality, what you aptly called a 'Little Bro wn American.' I have come to terms with my own identity- I am, after all, an American citizen carrying an American passport! What precipitated my quick decision to sever my ties with your country (aside from your **** of an article) were the Abu Sayyaf abductions (que barbaridad!) , the Payatas-like downslide of the peso (eat your hearts out, I earn sweet American dollars!), the 'devoid of conscience' graft and corruption in your government (this has gone on for the longest time-how shameful!), and lately, the stupid 'Juetengate' and juicy but enraging 'Boracay' mansion gossips. Here, in America , you have to tell it like it is or you'll never be taken seriously. When I commented about your pollution, street children mendicants, slums,potholes, toilets that don't work, garbage, floods, and most of all, the Pinoys' chronic lack of discipline, I was merely putting into words what I saw. Stonehill... the notorious gangsters immortalized by your Filipino movies like Asiong Salonga (hmmm!), et al...the killers in your (I thought they'd never end!) massacre movies...those cheap, appalling titles of your movies...those staged 'religious miracles' that your naive masses believed...family men with pushy queridas (mistresses) ...your crooked politicians, undependable police officers and greedy customs collectors.. .your bribe-hungry court judges...Imeldific, gloriously smiling and crying at the same time, bejeweled. (How very Fellini!) What you are is the sum total of your history, your heritage and culture,your education, the crap that your press sensationalizes, the bad icons that your movies glorify, the artificial values your advertising extols, the bad examples your leaders and role models project. What you feed your country's mind is what it becomes. You have become the ugly monster that you've created. You are now crying all the tears your sickeningly sentimental movies wailed out for years and years! If all your social, religious and political sectors don't sit down now and decide to take the Right Way , the Philippines and your children's children will be grand losers in the worldwide rush to the future. Education is one sure way to salvation. Teach what is right, good, beautiful and beneficial. Downplay all negativity if you cannot eliminate it altogether. The Ideal President I've got news for you. Let me make this short as I hate reading long comments. GMA should talk more about the State of The Nation and not about her. She can toy with the figures all she wants but we all know the truth because we experience it everyday. We see it with our eyes. I can't wait to see her go.
You can't wait to see GMA go? Why is it so many Pinoys have been brainwashed and blinded by GMAs's critics (e.g. (dirty) politicians, media (TV/Print), militant groups, etc. Pinoys should be lucky that we really have a VERY HARDWORKING PRESIDENT; that she really works hard for the welfare of the Filipino people-why can't ALL Pinoys see that? GMA's job is not easy - let's give her some CREDIT. Pinoys should be worried once she's gone (WE REALLY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT NEXT). Unless the would -be successors in the likes of GORDON and NOLI (should they decided to run and win) would continue her unfinished agenda, then Filipinos in general would have nothing to worry.
Right now, no one realizes the true value of PGMA yet but when she's gone already (just like CORY, in her passing, now the who whole nation is praising her how good she was, etcetera, etcetera) - but when she was still in power - all the negativities (e.g. coups left and right, etc.). Sadly, to these days of mourning, politics and intrigues still play between GMA and the Aquinos. I'm not surprised if GMA is also being blamed for Cory's death by her low-life detractors. Exactly, what kind of SINCERITY are Kris and her siblings are looking for from GMA? The fact that Marcoses' had something to do with the killing of their Dad found their 'condolences' more sincere? I don't get it. Undoubtedly, during this time of bereavement, there are some forces or bad people that are taking advantage of the situation and trying to POISON THE AQUINO'S MINDS against the GMA gov't or GMA per se. I'm not only pertaining to Satur or Teddie Casino when it comes to electing officials. I know they party list reps. How are we going to change our political system? Actually wala. In contrast to what you said, I think the political system is not the problem, rather the political mentality. We have so many laws. All we have to do as people is to follow them. And more importantly, not allow those in power to abuse them or use against us. Kasi, we complain na ganito, ganyan. But then what are we doing? Wala. Why? Dahil takot tayo? The best president will be the one who will sit in power and simply apply the laws. And when I say apply the laws, I mean apply them to his/her administration, generals, tongressman, senatongs, mayors, governors and the people. Kung sino ang magiging presidente, kailangan ipatupad mo 'to. Kahit sino ang mababangga mo, kailangan may bayag ka para magpakulong ng malalaking tao. Start from the top to bottom. Not the other way around. If you send those corrupts, susunod ang tao sa 'yo eh. You don't have to declare martial law to do this. You don't have to kill to do this. Just take a simple law on driving in the U.S. On a STOP sign street, the driver must FULLY stop and go ahead when safe. Hindi puwede ang usod-usod lang, kailangan full stop talaga. And if you don't follow, you'll get a ticket. And no bribing - otherwise another more severe penalty! So, you are right. We need a president who will implement the laws strictly. And the folks who can help her/him on this giant task are the leaders of each municipality, town, province, government bureau or department, and most especially the police force. Severe penalty for both lagay- recipient and -giver! But, you know Moling, I think we need to amend our political system. No more of the non-elected party-list in congress, no more of the million pesos of pork barrels. No more of the mother-and-son or both siblings in either congress dahil sa botohan doon ahead agad sila. So, pabor ako na magkaroon ng constitutional asssembly to amend the constitution. And it was even beefed up when I saw the burial last night. I couldn't but say the late president has turned out to be a saint to the extent that the priests, nuns, and all the parishioners were intact and had been praying, and had been offering a couple of masses for the soul of the late mother of the nation; not to mention the admiration, respect, and deep love that comes from the hearts of the majority of the Filipinos.
With this at hand, I suppose there is a possibilty that Kris's mom would be canonized as a saint one of these days... though it runs through a very strict and complicated process to qualify a person a saint by the Pope. actually i come from 3 generation poletics family. my grand father is the first councelor in my town he serve 27 years as a top notcher but his been contend just a councelor he dint run for mayor his under leberal party. the husband of the sis of my grand ma his been our mayor for many years. the cousen of my mom she serve 2 terms as a vice mayor my uncle also a councelor i have also cousen in poletics my brother also run for small posetion and his wife but they both lost. when i was a kid i told my mom i will be a poletician some day coz i like to shake hand people and i will make my town beautiful and i will never stole money and also to be famous. time change when i grow up. the provence who i was bron 1 of the most curropt in the country plus the rampant kelling. i got decourage.i can help people by not running into poletics and be a role model. one day i will be back home and stay for good there.but first work work work i cant able naman to make those good plan with out money. to all pls stop blame poletecian if you want beautiful things happen to you work for your dream and also faith in god.
to kamote its really true that the government under arroyo admen,i learned it from my brother. my bro told me if the gevernment build a new skul is more cost.last year gma vesit my town people are very thankful with her. just emagine the poorest parents can able to send now their sebling to high school.i remeber in high day at first 5 month unte2 nag stop ang eba student its not becouse they dont like to learn anymore its about fenancial prob, hendi naman mahal ang monthly payment. mostly the student who drop out is from island, kase pag bagyo or masama ang panahon walang income ang parents nela. ang eba they go to manila to be maids or what ever. its really pity but now the parents have no reason to let stop their kids to get a deploma. at the moment we dont have state college, i hope that 1 day have our own para kahet vocational utlest they get a better job. next year kahet seno maging pres pag may magandang genawa i always praise him or her.

Makabayan, I firmly believe that the whole constitution should be amended by 1) There should only be 2 political parties A. Naciolista and B. Liberal only. 2) Remove pork barrels to all tongressmen and senatongs 3) Remove all intelligence funds to all Govs, Mayors, Vice-Mayors. 4) All said funds should go directly with the Gov agencies for public expenses and benefits i.e hospitals, schools, etc and these must be monitored through computerized system with passcodes. So each some edits it, that person is liable as to why it was changed or whatever. But as long as there is a paper trail, all documents can manipulated. It will be harder if it's computerized because each gov employee carries his/her password. So kung may edit, may trace back to top. And charting notes should also be mandatory. But all of these are just wishes. It will not happen. I am an optimistic person, but I am more realistic. The congress and senate will not approve the computerized system and more importantly they will not allow a computerized election because they won't be able to manipulate the results. A solution to the computerized election should consist of Social security, name and DOB. Since SS numbers are assigned to one citizen only and not the same with another, it cannot be manipulated. So kung ano ang result sa isang voting municipality, that should equate with the national results. But those systems must be different. This way, walang dagdag-bawas. But of course, this will not happen. That is come May 2010, believe me, there will not be computerized election. Expect mo na ngayon, magpapalabas ang comelec ng dahilan na kunwari na-breached ang system nila, etc, etc. So sad. to moling you better run for pres next year.i will after i can judge you if your better than gma or more worts than her. do you have plan for the country to make it better? or its your nature to complain? i hope all filipino should know how to appreciate each other, and im not making joke here, why im interesting to post my comment here thats mean im interesting my country and i never lost hope that one day our nation come up from poverty.
