1. Cut down on meat
Seems like being vegetarian isn’t just a healthy choice, it’s actually environmental- friendly too. It isn’t the animals reared for your nilagang baka or menudo who exhale greenhouse gases; it’s actually the process of rearing them that is causing pain to the environment. The fertilizers needed to grow their feeds, the energy consumed as they grow, their methane releasing manure and the fuel spent on transporting these meat products produced 18 percent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions according to the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organization.
