Sir Howie,
I think that the media has done a lot to change the attitude of Filipinos towards ecological conservation. The recent incident of those melon headed whales that showed the concern of the locals is a by-product of the campaigns on the critical linkage of human survival and preservation of ecological diversity. With regards to the poor bird, sometimes incidents like this happen to heighten our drive for conservation... All the same, kudos to the good documentary... sir may mga musang din po sa Lucban Quezon. may kakilala ako parati daw nakakahuli ginagawa lang pulutan. sayang naman pawala na rin kase yung mga musang kaso tuloy tuloy panghuhuli. nakakapanghinayang. ang problema wala naman gumagawa ng aksyon.
I recently came across your blog and have been reading along. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading. Nice blog. I will keep visiting this blog very often.
Sarah http://www.lyricsdigs.com Hello po Sir Howie! Comment ko lang sa blog mong ito about that rare quail na na-rescue. Heto lang ang masasabi ko, tayong mga Pinoy (sorry, i have to say this.)walang pakialam sa ating sariling bayan, ultimo isang ibon na endemic sa ating bayan, and endangered at that, would not be spared by us Filipinos. Mantakin niyo po dito sa cebu, may maraming endangered and enedemic birds kami dito, pero who is studying and the experts of these birds, and mga banyaga. Isang bird sa mga leading bird experts of Endemic cebuano birds happened to be a German.
-__- Are there any updates about this rare bird? What has the government done to protect this bird? Or did they just ignore this discovery?
