Gabby, Those old Nikons were made of solid steel so maybe that's why they had that reputation. Perhaps those old Vietnam hands that shot the war can tell you from direct experience.
Give please. God creates men, but they choose each other.

Hi Howie, Musta?
Ingat kayo. www.photoblog.com/dennismallari Howie,
I am very sure that this will give awareness not only to my fellow Isabelino's but also to the whole country. I am from Ilagan and I just hate to see our very own mayor protecting these illegal loggers! Pero if you ask the people of Ilagan they would say na this mayor is also involve in this illegal activity. He should be ashamed of him self. I hope that you will do a follow-up documentary on the out come of this fight against ILLEGAL LOGGERS. More power to you and to your program. BTW, Sana nga ma-upload niyo yung documentary sa website niyo. Thanks and regards, Paul Good afternoon, very nice site! Good luck!.
I am from Japan and now teach English, give true I wrote the following sentence: "Bitch damage and therapeutic disqualification 5-mg, not totally as the participants on clothing of the condition if followed, may make massage to prenatal muerte compressor." Thank Nice original site.

Myls (isang DENR employee) Hi Myls, Keep the faith, maraming katulad mo. As for I-Witness becoming pre-programming for Dyesebel, baka mas malaki pang pag-asang masugpo ang illegal logging sa Isabela. ; )
I find the word ambitious as a positive trait, and Gov. Padaca is one. More power to her! The whole country benefits with her program.
Frederick Funston and his Macabebe Scouts made an epic trek from Casiguran to Palanan in the interior. Their mission: Capture El Presidente Emilio Aguinaldo dead or alive.
Funston's group nearly didn't make it...they were save only by the sudden presence of non other than Aguinaldo's men, who proceeded to take the group right into Aguinaldo's lair. More than eighty years later, writer David Haward Bain reenacted Funston's trek as part of his 1982 book Sitting in Darkness. Gabby, The book is a classic -- it tells the true story of how Funston pretended to be the hostage of the Macabebes posing as Katipuneros... a ruse that worked. That coastal route, by the way, hasn't changed much over the last century, a window into why Aguinaldo chose to retreat to Palanan and why Funston barely survived the trek.
Howie,
I got a chance to watch this before I flew out of the country. Excellent job! Your documentaries had inspired me a lot even back in my college years in UP, in fact, at some point I told myself, "I want to be like Howie when I grow up,". ^_^ Although I had been lined to a different career now, your documentaries has been very influential in my heart and mind. Saludo ako sa 'yo! Dear Howie,
thanks for documenting and making people aware the destruction of our environment especially the Sierra Madre our Last Great forest in Luzon. In my areas of concern here in Bulacan we have the same situation with the rampant illegal activities but worse Bulacan area of sierra madre supplies water 97% to Metro manila which make our sierra madre area a very important one much more a national security with national interest. we have four major watersheds and dams (angat watershed, ipo watershed, DRT-gen.Tiņio watershed, and bustos watershed. all are almost in danger of destruction. The angat has only 80% forest cover, ipo has only 30% forest cover, DRTY-Gen.Tiņio has 60% forest cover and the least is bustos watershed with only 10% since it almost depend to angat and Ipo for water replenishment. We need help and we want people to know that our government is not doing enough to protect our forest and making our water supply with steady availability. i will report your blog in my site so that people would know our advocacy to save our remaining fordest 5% in the Philippines. bro Martin Sagip Sierra Madre Environmental society, Inc. Bro. Martin, Thanks for the info. Will keep it in mind for future stories.
I would like to applaud this positive pro-active action initiated by Howie et Isabela Governor Grace Padaca to put the focus firmly on illegal logging and destruction of an offically gazetted and protected rainforest habitat with various flagship endangered species!
It takes both personal courage and political will to rise above the mainstream AND actually change the course of history. No issues have ever been effectively dealt with without due diligence and transparency, so this is an effort well worth supporting. Keep up the good work! Jelle Note: Conservar es construir futuro (Š 2007 Espacios Naturales, Mexico por Salvemos el berrendo) Jelle, Thanks for the applause, but I shouldn't share in it -- I'm just the messenger for a brave effort by Gov Padaca. Let's wish her the best and may she persevere and be safe.
hi, have you heard that gov padaca, along with among ed, etc. is considering the National level politics in 2010.
will they have a good chance? The campaign has been gaining ground. They now have one big fish and another in hiding, 700,000 board feet of lumber in 5 days confiscated in warehouses.
Hope we can all lend them our support by just spreading the word. Thank you Howie for this eye opening story. Let's join hands bringing down illegal loggers.
