Hi
I conduct a lot of awareness raising work and conservation research on the whale sharks and am very keen to learn more about this sighting. Would it be possible to have any contact details of those that sighted and subsequently released the baby whale shark? What was the length or the shark. Have any larger whale sharks also been seen in this region? I would be very keen to develop a monitoring program to determine whether this is a breeding area for this species. Thanks - and I look forward to replies to my personal address (brad@whaleshark.org). Cheers Brad. Hi Brad, Thank you for your concern. I also emailed you at your email address. WWF Philippines staff measured, photographed and then released the baby whale shark off Sablayan, Mindoro. You can contact them through their web site.
