When you want something very badly and don’t have the cash available, you might be tempted to use your credit card without any clear idea of how you will pay for your statement when it comes. Chances are, you will fall into the credit card debt trap. To help you strengthen your discipline not to fall into the temptation, it is good for you to understand what you will have to go through if you ever get into credit card debt. If you are already in credit card debt, then it will be good for you to take heed of the advice.
The highest interest rate charged for loans is the interest on credit cards. When you are not able to pay the complete amount in your statement, the amount due becomes a loan. Unfortunately, interest cannot be suspended and does not end until you pay off your loan completely. Interest rate of credit card loans is usually 3.5% per month. This is 42% per year when the usual loan interest rates are about 12-17% per year. To make matters worse, the amount you pay each month will be used to pay off the interest due on your outstanding balance first before even reducing the loan amount. This means that it is possible that you are paying mostly interest every month and hardly reducing your loan amount. In addition, finance charges are based on the remaining balance due on the previous billing plus new transactions incurred from the current billing cycle. This means that the moment you get into credit card debt, you have to cancel your credit cards right away and use only cash. Write the company, cut the card and send it with the letter to the bank. Negotiate with your credit card company for a payment schedule with a lower interest rate and try to ask for penalties to be condoned. For those in debt, if it took you some time to accumulate your credit card debt, it may take you even longer to get out of it especially if you do not start immediately. But do not despair. So many have your same problem but so many have been able to get out of it because of discipline and determination. Your addressing the problem now is a sure sign that you can do it. For those who are happily not into any credit card debt, don’t even think that you should try it because anyway, you can get out of it eventually. I assure you that you do not want to create stress for yourself and to waste your time thinking of how you will do this. It is better to deprive yourself now of whatever it is that you want to buy. Save first to get the item rather than allow yourself to get into debt. Look at what you have to go through. Start right away by “investing in debt”. Prepare a reduced spending plan (actually a savings plan) in writing with specific spending items to be reduced, which will be your source for paying your debt earlier. There should be clear timelines or deadlines to reduce your debt. Save every peso possible to pay off your credit card bill. Respect each peso because it is the start to credit card freedom. Focus on savings first, concentrating on Needs and completely removing any Wants in your daily expenses. The next big move would be to look for additional income. It is important that you talk about these with your spouse and children so that they will be completely cooperative and disciplined enough to limit expenses to Needs. We talked about this in the June 20 blog. The savings suggestions might sound difficult but you really have to seriously sacrifice until the credit cards debts are fully paid. You will be in bigger trouble if you don’t move very quickly. Remember, these are just the bitter medicines and if properly done, is really only temporary until you get all your plans together. The only good reason you can borrow at this point is to consolidate all your credit card debts into one loan. You must, however, declare this to the company that is willing to lend you. Most of all, you must make sure that you will be paying less interest rate to this new lender compared to the interest rate incurred in your current credit card debt. You must look at all the hidden costs like service charges etc. Those are not immediately noticeable. As the use of credit and debit cards becomes more widespread, more techniques for fraud will also be created. With the benefits come risks and costs. Major card issuers have come out with advisories on cards issued from developing countries with the Philippines among them. Recently, the major card issuers like Europe-Pay, Master Card and Visa have come out with more stringent standards on security features of credit cards to force the banks to take more serious steps in eliminating fraud. Actually, you have the real responsibility for the security of your credit card. The credit card companies and banks can only do so much. I want to share with you tips that I have personally experienced and that have been relayed to me by others. Do not sign the back of your credit cards. Instead, put 'PHOTO ID REQUIRED.' 1) You should be sure that the company you are dealing with is really reputable. It is better that you have visited their offices and checked out their credentials with the SEC and other government agencies related to their business. Another reminder: You must all understand the terms of your credit card even before you apply for it. When you receive the actual card, you must take time out to read the terms printed in the document that comes with the card even before you actually use it. If you still didn’t read it then, the terms are again printed behind each monthly statement that you receive. If you cannot understand the terms, you should ask them to explain the terms completely. To own a credit card, you have to pay yearly. In many cases, the credit card company offers the first year charge free to entice you to take the card. But the next year charge is no longer free. You can pay in cash or you can use the points that you have accumulated from past purchases, if you have enough points. Each credit card has different ways of accumulating points so you have to ask them. It can be interesting to manage your credit card and the points that they offer that give out nice gifts. Just be sure you pay on time so that you do not get into unwanted credit card debt. Remember that you need to write info@colaycofoundation.com if you want me to answer your questions. FRANCISCO J. Dear Sir,
Thanks for info and precautions. Last month, I recieved two credit cards from reputable banks sent to my residence address. My concern is that I didnot apply for it and most especially I don't want it. I prepare to pay in cash rather in credit. How this company know my address? if you have an account sa KSA bank, malamang ay alukin ka ng credit card ng bangko. It is better to accept it and do not use it rather than others will use your account (though wala pa namang reported incident sa KSA na ginamit ng iba ang account ng ibang tao for a credit card, specially ay representative mismo ng ank ang pupunta sa company nyo for the applications and verifications. Dito sa Pinas? Forget about using credit card.
If you are not interested on using those cards, destroy it right away. They wont charge you on that anyway.
Yeah, you have to cut the card and although hassle, you have to inform the company that you are not interested with the card for them to officially cancel your account.

I would rather eat beans and rice or fish head and rice.. atleast i can sleep and sounds at least nobody's knoking my door to bother me about creditor.. You know this uneverse is full of preditors.. years Ago.. mga e'h hoo.. Thy will use new technology .. such as credit card or any thing .. then, time comes hindi ka makabayad.. they got you they will arrested you and put you in concentration then used you like a slave to work for them.. like CEO.. u can iron there clothes and even shine there shoes.. until you pay your contrymen's credit.. little things u must know . this is what is going on in the world now adays. oh will.. chao Ha ha ha.. more interesting to read than the topic!!!
normally ang mga banko maraming sources of information lalo na if you have good standing balance sa bank or maganda ang position mo sa company.if you dont want to use the cards no need to returned it to the bank just make a choice destroy it,or keep it until dumating ang day na magagamit mo dahil hinihingi ng pagkakataon....god bless
I use my ATM cards now to pay those bills, wala pang hassle sa pagbayad. Pag-ako pinadalhan ngaun yan, tatadtarin ko na parang simcard kaliit at imemail ko uli pabalik sabay sabi, "Thank you for the card, but I need Cash," hehehe! Pareng Sev.... hahaha. I am happy to read your witty comments. God bless the Philippines

zane,
what's holding you back from mentioning the bank name of your so called credit card? you'll be doing everyone here a favor, nang sa ganuon ay maiwasan ng marami dito ang mga buwitreng iyan. never fear, no one knows your identity and the bank or institution you are indebted to won't trace who you are. tadtarin mo yang credit card na yan...pag maliit pa utang mo ok lang pero pag malaki na patay kang bata ka....every day tatawagan ka ng mga agents nila...ok lang kung sila ang maniningil araw-arwin ang tawag nila sa inyo pag ikaw ang may problema sa mga billings nila na pinadala sa iyo...kung saan-saan ka ipasapasa ng mga...HALIMAW NA YAN.hahaha....
When you use a credit card to pay online, be sure that the url starts with "https://". The added "s" on the "http" stands for Secure Sockets Layer. This is an internet protocol primarily developed for secure and safe internet transactions. Check also that he SSL certificate is legitimate. check this out...http://www.microsoft.com/protect/yourself/phishing/spoof.mspx
i suggest using debit card nalang wala pang interest, reload kalang ng relaod...
bdo cash card, works fine. Yep Debit card works fine specially purchasing online stuffs.
agree ako jan bro... mas walang hassle pag debit card.. pde din pang purchase online. tapos pde din ata sya pang accept ng payment then ma withdraw sa ATM.
Kuripot, if you don't want to use the cards just shred them (cut them into pieces) and throw it.
Are we talking about Filipinos in the Philippines having a credit cards?, Majority or more than 90 percent of Filipinos can barely own a cash. Credit card pa kaya.
Some people do thinks that owning a credit card is a passport to instant shopping and they forgot that everytime they purchase a merchandise they are paying a big interest. Credit card is not a status symbol unless you spend cautiously and keep track on those spending. Let me check my wallet here, ahh... I have a blackgold American express at maximum of $100K, Mastercard 10% discount in big box stores if I spend $5K a month. Visa Worldwide Travellers discount frequent flyers special. Let me check my account at Hidden Bank of Innsbruck billioners club, in my laptop. Its incripted I have to go there personally. Oops I gotta go, I have an appointment with friends for the launching of my 120 feet yacht in San Diego.
Pareng Sev. Good afternoon here in hongkong.
Mga repapips, kamusta na? its nice to be back hehe.. di ako makarelate sa topic kasi wala akong credit card, sayang wala tuloy ako matanong kay bossing colayco.
Absolutely, you might be surprised how and where did they got your personal informations. To enumerate some other sources; referrals from your friends and co-workers, promotions where they obtained your personal info, internet job sites, etc. These are the sources where our credit card agents and call center agents who are working round the clock to get the chances of calling prospective customers and referrals from one prospective customer to another to reach their sales target and to get big commissions. Technology and mixture of ideas really count from day to day business. The only thing is be VIGILANT and be DISCIPLINED.
I used to work as Collections Officer for a credit card company, and later as Customer Service Representative with another credit card company. In my first company as collections officer, I myself swore not to own a credit card. With all the interest charges, you will really be buried with debt. Later on, as an inbound CSR, I have realized some of the advantages of having a credit card ONLY IF you have the discipline to use it. Most of the credit cards earn points for every transactions which could be converted to gift certs, etc. So if you have the cash, you can pay it later. But still, parang tukso pa rin ang credit card. So, kung hindi rin lang marunong mag-manage, better to you cash if you have it....
To CSR:
Kakapikon eh. Di sila lalo makakakolekta sa ginagawa nilang pambabastos. Kolektor nga ako but more on Admin. On the other hand, hindi mo rin sila masisisi.
Hi CSR, yeah not all of them. But before when I was in Manila, there's an instance that I was being polite, but in the end, sila ang unang nambabastos. Yeah, it's our responsibility to pay our dues, but still, we are customers. Do you find it very interesting working in an environment na ang katabi mo nakikipag murahan sa customer? Or will it make you proud na everytime meron training ang ganitong "collection Department " eh turuan kayo mag mura at mambastos ng di nagbabayad ng utang?
Anyways, FYI. Incase you haven't paying your card for a long time. Insurance Companies will pay the loss they have achieved from "us". Well, yung mga makukulit na bastos na tumatawag eh it's from the Insurance recovery purposes nalang. Thats why they ask you to pay a "discounted" amount. Appealing pero bayad na ang bank. They're just making money out of it. Thats why this Idiots who calls us and ask people that they will kill all your family members if you wont pay your dues...is just keen for the commission. Tsk tsk tsk

I strongly advise to still pay your debts kasi pag pinabayaan mo yan tuloy-tuloy na may record sa system. This is just an advice.

Of course you have to pay. Utang mo yun eh. Pero make it proper how to remind the customers. Di lahat nakukuha sa pananakot. One instance, my friend who was also subjected to this overdue payment, called by the collector and said a lot of annoying things. Then my friend was able to trace the phone and address of this person. Sinugod nya. Eh ayaw magpakita.... Di sya nagbayad. Hehehehehehehe. Kung maayos makipag usap yun di ba? Kahit ikaw, murahin ka, papalampasin mo ba?

During my short period of being a collections officer, I don't remember saying something foul over the phone to any cardholder.

Good for you! But sad to say, most of them are. It's impossible you didn't know anything about it or heard somethiong about it.
And lahat naman yun eh good standing ako.
That's true. 0% installment is indeed 0% ONLY IF YOU PAY YOUR BALANCE IN FULL.
I have actually a total of 7 c-cards. It all started since 1996 from 1 card, dahil nga ok income at payments ko, maraming naging offers from other c-card co., nadagdagan nang nadagdagan til umabot sa 4, normally nadagdagan din ang utang :-)it is true na good advantage owning c-cards, but you have to be careful, lahat ng comments/sad experiences dito ay naexperience ko na, and I have only 2 cards now left & maintained. fully settled ang iba at Still paying debts with the other 2 cards. I had been trapped at nalubog sa utang with these cards, can you imagine having 7 cards? Maswerte p rin at d2 nko sa abroad - one of the reason is to earn some money in settling not only card debts, haaaayy - malaking pera din pero nagamit ko rin naman - bad thing was the huge interests/penalties - patung patong. Kaya, advice ko din sa wala pang c-card, wag na po, or kung kaya nyo disiplinahin sarili nyo, go ahead basta ako tama na yung 2 cards, 1 of those d2 sa abroad. And I agree with pnoyksa's statements. God bless sa inyong lahat
ang hirap lang sa credit bank institution, they are hiring people to call and remind us from daily even if the due date has not reached, its okay to do these calls if the due date is reached and no payment has been made.
1998, may 4 credit cards ako, then year 2000 umabot ng P50,000 utang ko sa credit card. Kaya naiisipan ko mag abroad. Ngayong 2008, wala na akong credit card, at may savings na ako sa bank. Credit card is not the solution in your financial needs,,, it is the problem when you get hooked-up.
nung nandyan pa kami s Pilipinas, I really made it a point not to fall into the trap of these credit card companies, so we really have to rely on cash for everything. Because I've seen a lot of friends suffering from very high debt because they did not pay what they owe on these companies on time and in full amount. But now that we are currently here in America, it's a different story. Here, you cannot build your credit history if you don't have credit cards. Building a good history would mean you can loan a good amount to own a car or a house. What we did is we just maintained 2 credit cards, spent only up to 20 to 30% per month of the total available credit, and pay our full monthly dues on time. So far, we're good at this time. It just takes discipline and diligence in paying your debt/bills to outsmart these credit card companies.
kagaya mo kuripot din ako, kaya lang i want to have a credit card for some convenience like booking an airline ticket online. may instance kasi na hindi ka makaalis sa work at hindi mo na aabutang open ang travel agency. just limit the use to important ones only. having a debit card is better pero hindi kasi inu-honor minsan. gusto nila credit card lang. i'm still thinking to have 1.
disiplina lng nmn kelangan pag meron ka credit card.. since malakas ang loob mo bumili kc swipe lng ng swipe kelangan pa ren ng control.. i've been using it for quite sometime now pero di pa nmn ako nabaon sa utang.. i see to it na alam ko kung magkano n nagamit ko para alam ko when to stop then, binabayaran ko agad in full payment para walang interest. kelangan din pumili ng credit card company na walang hidden charges...
one more thing, pag gagamit ka ng credit card, dont bring cash (except pangtranspo)... tama... kelangan lang talaga ng disciplina...spent lang up to sa kayang bayaran (evaluate your capacity to pay)di lang sa credit card applicable at kahit anong klaseng transaction that involve money, car loan, housing loan etc..just be RESPONSIBLE enough...maraming advantage ang card..at masyadong bulky & risky ang cash pag nagtratravel ka.
be a wise spender lang! Actually, I have four credit cards that were active at present My problem right now is that every time I ask for the cancellation of my cards, the issuing company denies it and gives a much lucrative offer like, annual fees waived, upgrade my card from silver to gold card and even increase my points. So with this, mako convince ka talaga nila at mahihirapan ka na i-dro yung card…pls advise.
Hi, Arcy. Ganon talaga, kasi kung magpapa-cancel ka, syempre mababawasan ang client nila and they have to offer everything just to maintain your account with them. Pero kung decided ka talaga, DON'T BE CONVINCED by the offers. BE SURE TO REQUEST FOR CERTIFICATE OF FULL PAYMENT and CUT THE PHYSICAL CARD.
Credit card in the Philippines sucks especially HSBC and CitiBank. Here in abroad, you do need a lot of credit card and of course you have to maintain a good standing otherwise the next time you apply for any loan you will not pass on the filtration of Credit Bureau. Philippines does not have this.
I need help po sobra ano ba dapat kong gawin i owe A= 170,000 , B = 47,000 ended upto 160,000 and C= 80,000 .. ano po ba gagawin ko para mabayaran ko lahat il take the amnesty pero wala ako iba makukunan ng ibang cash pangbayad dont own anything to sell and pay my debts help me please just leave a message here thanks
Ang sagot ko D=All of the above... I think, effective yong advice mo, hahaha. God bless Pare.
@CD may tama c @ Sev, nakakapagtataka rin kasi how u'd come up na ganon kalaki na mga utang..hehehehe meaning u've a solvent income of your owned dahil nakakuha ka ng ganon kalaki.
hehe..tama ka @ TS pero hindi ako yun!haha..ano pa bang nuknukin ko kay @CD eh baon na nga sa utang hahahaha...& this is not d right venue anyway asking help about your debts!!!!..this is stupidity.

BAKIT ME SPECIFIC NA AGE BRAKET,pag ba 40 over na wala nang kwenta sa inyo? kaya di na matutulungan, aba mali kayo jan,pag 40 above dapat sila pa nga ang tulungan ninyo at least you people learn a lot frm their experiences.o di ba? maliitin ba kami!!! hmmm!!
Dahil nga d2 sa saudi wlang tax lahat ng mga accomodities mura pamilihin lalo pag appliances up to local Gold products nila....from Gold pa lang if your wise enough to spend your cards..d2 ka makakuha ng malaking advantage..halos kasi tripple ang price compare in phils...at sa mga electronics naman sulit pag d2 ka mamili...bsta juz choice d branded one..at may isa pang program ang c-card d2...may tinatawag clang Taqseet but u'll only process it online fr bank website..puede mong e pa convert ang available balance mo into cash with corresponding payment period of your choice up to 36mos..w/ 0. interest only 1 time processing fee of 75riyals...mostly kahit mga kakilala ko ginagawa namin yan tuwing papauwi kami ng vacation...in anyway this will be utilized as additional pocket money...rather than..asking other people to help you with ur financial needs.
well sa phils kasi, bukod sa mahal na ang bilihin dyan dahil sa daming klase2x tax na ipinapatong...mataas pa ang interest rate at totoo yan napakakulit ng mga collectors pag maningil even ur just delay for even consecutive days..heeheh.. e consider mo tlga ang discipline mo to spend wisely ng c-card, yung pasok lang sa income mo na kaya mong bayaran...be responsible enough..dapat may limit ka...lalo na sa pinas na lahat na yatang klaseng loan ay meron..bukod pa in owning a credit card.. na sa gumagamit pa rin yan! Dear Sev and Pinoyksa,
Parehas tayo sa Saudi but I prefer to pay in cash rather than in credit card. Sev, Be careful sa Riyadh area kasi uso rito ang hold up. Hindi kailangan ang maraming pera sa wallet. With me I used my ATM for settlement of my purchases kung puedi.
wondering bkit di ka ma approved sa visa, bka negative file ka sa ibang company, such as cellphone company, electric, cable etc.lahat kasi sila nag rereport and nag veverify sa mga bank asociation and credit association, also sa ilang gov't. offices.pero minsan it really takes months bago ma process application lalo kung di ka nila ma contact for verification and c.i. if you ned help i can refer you to one company who handle credit card application for visa and m.c.
lei,
tnx sa reply. pero wala naman akong utang ni kusing sa mga utilities company. on-time ako sa lahat ng payment ko. tinawagan ko hotline ng credit card company at sabi nila wala daw silang natanggap na application ko eh samantalang sa opisina mismo nila ako nag-apply. di kaya yung humawak noong aking application na worker ng credit card company ay di inasikaso? it's quite obvious that mr. colayco is not very financially literate when it comes to credit cards. which is the problem with 90% of filipinos. there are reputable credit card companies who offer as low as 8.4% interest rate per annum. one just has to learn the techniques of the trade.
Ah talaga John? That's good news. Please tell us what credit company you work for.
Ano Nimus,
if you are not aware of this, you will always be charged with 42% per annum interest rate plus penalties and charges. lack of knowledge is the problem. not even large multinational corporations can pay that high an interest rate. what more an ordinary consumer. always check the fine print of card companies, all details. I just want to ask a question regarding my Credit Card Debt......i have this card from a reputable company...i owe them a lot due to interest and financed charges they charge...i've been trying to question the charges they made and even e-mailed them that i wanted to settle the amount i owed based on the ORIGINAL amount i owed and not with all the charges.....it's been a few years and they never replied and contacted me again..amount already ballooned...what can i do? and what's the worst they can do to me? hoping for your opinion and suggestion on this matter...Thank you..
You have to coordinate with the credit card company. It would be more advisable to call the Customer Service hotline first who will then refer you to the one handling your account. But ask for discount. And once settled, don't forget to request for certificate of full payment.
i need opinion. i've got 2 c cards and unfortunately my loan is a= 58k and b= 40k. Lahat naman ng loan ko put to good use as in kailangan ng family ko. i'm a single mom and call center agent lang. i'd like to know what you think. My bills now are 7k each sa minimum payment and i can't afford it. I know I overspent pero pag needs ng family, can't help it di ba? I have an option for a loan pero maliit lang ang maximum loan. I am interested in consolidating it and making a loan na lang, pay off my debts sa ccards. Is that a wise move?
Forecast mo din ang finances mo, kung magkakaroon ka ng pera in the near future at willing kang ipambayad yun, well mas ok kung hintayin mo na yun. Pero kung sa tingin mo eh kung ano ang current state ng finances mo ngayon eh ganun din in future, mas maganda na gumawa ka na agad ng action as early as now. Like what you said, mas ok kung mag loan ka nalang to consolidate your loans.
How to compute your Finance Charge.
Ganito kasi yan, example me outstanding kang 100K, ngayon pag di mo nabayaran yan ng buo, compute sila ng 3.5% (normal charge) out of that 100K and yun ang ipapatong nila dun. Ask ka ng amnesty gagawin nila cut nila card mo and payable ng ilang years nalang ang utang mo with mnimal interest (normally 1%) a month. Option # 2 Another option is ibalance transfer mo and totally wag nang gamitin yung card. Kasi tendency eh pag me nakita tayo kahit walang pera eh pwedeng bilhin ng card. Pwede ang card na pang backup just in case na wala kang pera, pero bayaran mo agad he he he he... credit card is nice and sometimes it helps but the problem is the big interest!!!use ur card wisely, dont spend to much!!!!!be careful
gudmorning,as i've red your comments i cant find situation that suits my problem with regards to this matter...i owned an HSBC card but due to financial problem d ko na bayaran 2 until lumaki at u,umabot na daw (according sa kanila ha)ng 65k pero 9k lang ang nagamit ko talga it was yr 2005 then wen i used it...and now nangungulit n cla ba bayaran ko....they sends some letters informing me na they file a case against me dahil d ko mabayaran ung utang ko...until this june 12,2008 they gave a final notice n they are giving only 3 days 2 settle the utang..but how can i pay kung wla nmn ako ibabayad i never tried to call them kasi natakot ako na singilin nila ako at sabihan ng masasakit na salita...just wondering makukulong pa ko because of that.....???guys please do help me....
Sana makatulong. hi eric, i think we have same problem po, may utang me sa Citibank. it was 10 years ago pa yata until now hindi settled ang utang ko doon. Can i have your suggestions kung anong pwedeng kong gamitin? thanks in advance po!
eric i got same prob with u.. and what uve posted really helped me figure out how to start dealing with my existing prob with hsbc.. thanks a lot..
if u have any other suggestions for me, everyone's welcome.. Soon we will be launching Pinoy Visa cards (OFW remittance/ATM card) in the UAE then in other Gulf countries. Please visit www.pinoyvisacard.com.
Let me know if you will be an interested to join our team as part-time marketing executive. Hi Marissa,
I need part time jobs like this. Wow Marissa, galing naman ng pasok mo.
Dahil sa style mo suspicious ka na. For everyone: don't forget Mr. Colayco's advice above: 1) You should be sure that the company you are dealing with is really reputable. It is better that you have visited their offices and checked out their credentials with the SEC and other government agencies related to their business. 2) Make sure that the website is really that of the company. Sometimes, websites use the name of other companies and you may not realize it. You can check this out when you visit/call the company yourself. Mag-ingat!
I fell into this trap and I swear it will never happen again, nalubog ako sa utang at naging miserable ang buhay ko sa kaka-swipe ng linshak na plastic cash na 'yan!!!
I learned my lesson the hard way; I got 2 jobs but almost all my pay slips were going to my CCs!
I have 4 c.cards before. until now I haven't settled this. there asre several law firms who's calling me & sending me letters that they will sue me. prior to that i've been trying to communicate w/the bank & asking for a special discounts in order for me to pay my dues. but still they're giving me figures that's really beyond my budget. and also some of the collector agents is really so bastos & even yung mga law firms na tumatawag sakin. kaya from then hindi ko na sila kinakausap & even when they're calling sa office i'm asking my colleagues & to tell them that im not around. is it true ba na hindi ako makukulong dito?
eric,
@Bozzy: As long as you will not issue cheques that will bounce, hindi ka makukulong. In other countries, before they issue a credit card or loans, they will ask you to sign a blank and undated cheque incase in the future you will forget your obligation to pay what you loaned from them. With regards to the collectors, bastos talaga yang mga walang pinag aralan na yan. Most disgusting job ever! Just ignore them and give them your middle finger also.
@ Bulakenya: They might applied for the loan before they were blacklisted from the bank. To all the Collectors: My middle fingers are all yours and your family hi,
Ang credit card ay kabaligtaran ng investment, yung last month na topic ni bossing colayco is about investment, if you invest 10 pesos a day after 40 yrs magigng 28.8 million daw, sa credit card ganun din, umutang ka ng 10 pesos a day, after 40 yrs 28.8 million na rin utang mo hehe.. di ba pareng sev and pareng buddy?
39 years and 10 months to go pa to reach 28.8 M, hehehehe! Natumbok mo Pareng Glenn, Good pm. Nasa US ka na ba ulit?
Well, Tama ka pare. Colayco na mag-invest ng 10pesos per day... then hintayin natin for 39 years may 28.8Million na tayo. Enjoy life. Thumbs up to you mga pare. If you hate the guy...then get out of this blog.
Ano Nimus, Minus Point.
You're right. We're fans of Mr. Colayco. In fact, we are planning to to form a fan club of Mr. Colayco. Have you noticed that we're kep on reading the entry of Mr. Colayco? that means his blog is more interesting. Si Pareng Sev, I should say ... Witty, but with good sense of humor. Si Pareng Glenn naman... factual and intellectual man. Do not be serious about our entry, we're not angry with bossing colayco. In my opinion, marami kang matututunan kay mr. colayco, kung papaanong magmahal sa salapi, mangarap ng gising at maging greed person... The love of money is the ROOT of all evil. The more you love the money, the more you become evil. Life is very short, enjoy life. God gives life... enjoy it.

Very well said pareng buddy..
alam mo ANO NIMUS, di bale na mukhang tanga, kesa talagang tanga di ba? sa paningin mo lang naman kami MUKHANG TANGA, but i bet you di ka tatalino sa aming tatlo ni pareng sev at pareng buddy.. all blogs has its own critics, and we are the critics of this blog.. alam mo yung last couple of blog ni mr colayco, alam kong kami yung tinitira nya, which he also has the right to do so kasi blog nya ito.. kung di ka masaya sa ginagawa namin SHUT YOUR MOUTH DUDE!!!

You're right. Let her enjoy reading our entry. Tayo naman kasi ayaw ng Credit cards dahil settled na tayo doon sa 10pesos a day savings then wait for 40 years...28.8M agad, hahaha.

BOZZY:
GUDMORNING i was there when they applied their loans kaya nga nagtaka ako kasi nga black listed din sila and all of a sudden na approved parin ung cash loan nila.... PINADALHAN SIYA NG DEMAND LETTER TELLING HIM TO PAY THE AMOUNT OF Php 29K+ (including service charges and other bank charges) UPON THE RECEIPT OF THE LETTER. PERO NAKIPAGTALO SIYA (sya pa galit!) SA CONCERNED BANK NA NANGUNGULIT SA KANYA AND IN THE END NAGKASUNDO SILA SA PRINCIPAL AMOUNT NYA NA Php 7K+ AT INSTALLMENT PA.
*****FROM A VERY RESPECTABLE LAWYER***** @Lifesaver:
Wala pang batas na nakukulon sa creditcards as of now. Bouncing Checks OO.
this is quite true, when the creditor sees in you your sincerity to pay the amount involved, they apply amnesty, most of the time they will write off the interest incurred. But they make it difficult too to those card holders na nagpahirap sa kanila sa paniningil. their way of granting amnesty is they will grant you a period of time to settle the debt plus the interest, total amount spread over a year or two. walang nakukulong sa mga may utang. kaya lang careful when you enter into an agreement with the creditor where they ask you to issue post dated checques. These checques have to be good, otherwise the law will be applied on you, estafa, which is punishable. by all means if you wanna run from paying up your debt, you can do it. maaring di ka na nga habulin ng company but beware, these establishments are well intertwined and your name will be in their list of "bad customers" and this stays there for years. you never can tell what tomorrow brings, baka kailanganin mo pa rin ang credit services though not necessarily credit cards. HR manager nga, baon naman pala sa utang, pati 7k hindi pa mabayaran. sir nga ang tawag ng mga tao sa kanya, pero mas mayaman pa pala yung mga under nya sa kanya. i pity you mr. HR manager!
convenient gamitin credit card- airline booking, groceries, gas, etc. instead of carrying cash, but make sure to pay it in full on or before the due date, make sure you know how to control your spending, credit card can be a good friend but can turn to a nightmare if left and right gamit without thinking if kya ba bayaran buo bill sa due date w/o compromising your budget,sa akin very useful credit card, so far in my 5 years of using it, i always pay it on time kaya wala pa sila kinita sa akin na interest, its me who is earning points which i used in some of my purchases using credit card
Credit card is good but credit is bad.at first you will feel the power to buy anything you want. ako may limit hanggang 350K, thats not bad, but i also have accumulated a debt amounting to 325K, so most of what i pay goes to the finacial charges.
i think this is the biggest RIP OFF that was ever invented in history. people! when using credit cards, "MODERATE YOUR GREED"! sinabi ko na yan kay Jun Lozada at pilit kong ipinararating kay Chairman Hambalos!
hi everyone
well, five years ago me ang my hubby was trying to get a car loan but 2x we were denied due to we dont have a credit line kasi i always pay cash, kahit daw credit card pwde na so we applied a credit card and to our surprise they gave us 3 different credit cards from same company and another 3 cards arrived for my husband whew instantly my wallet bursted with plastic money....... after a year we again applied for a car loan and this time its approved and after 18 mos of battling in paying our monthly dues for the car our phone keep on ringing offering us to upgrade our credit standing and if we wanted to buy another car.......sounds tempting dba? but i refuse coz i really dont need it. i always pay in full....and i always see to it that my purchase receipt always hand on hand with the card for me to be able to see my credit stand.......managing is the key when using credit card dapat maging responsible ka sa expenses mo....and i only bring 1 credit card in my wallet... MS dARLENE,
Very timely reminder. Whenever I plan to buy something I always ask these 2 questions:
1. Do I want it? 2. Do I need it? Most of the time #2 cancels my impulse to buy. It always works. Thanks for another great post. Keep it coming. Mabuhay! tama yan lulay, saludo ako sa diskarte mo. sana lahat ganoon ang tao...
MS DARLENE
GUDMORNING PO,SALAMAT PO ULIT SA INFO NAKU MALI PALA UNG STRATEGY NA GINAWA KO HEHEH KASI SA TAKOT KO PO NA BAKA MARAHIN AT BASTUSIN NILA AKO SAKALING MAPUNTAHAN NILA AKO SA BAHY,KAYA ANG SINABI KO SABIHIN NALANG NA LUMIPAT N AKO NG BAHAY PARA TUMIGIL NA DIN UNG MGA DEMAND LETTERS NA PINAPADALA NILA MAS LALO PALA AKONG NGAKARON NG KASO SA GINAWA KO...HUHUHUHU PANU N KO NGYN...WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH Ganun ba, ok lang yun wag mo masyadong dibdibin yun.
#50 anonymous,
thats because you breached the contract kaya may kaso ka pa rin. read the contract, nakapaloob dun yung "update personal information". this phrase to is too far and wide at may habol ang card company. you failed to inform them and this may be used as grounds for filing a case, it shows your "willingness" to abandon you responsibility. like i said, apply for "amnesty", kausapin mo sila to reconstruct your debt payments in a manner na di ka papalya, this is sincerity, the mere fact na lumapit ka sa kanila to settle the issue at pagbibigyan ka naman ng mga yan. Hi JOJO_v anonymous has nothing to update kse di naman talaga sya lumipat ng address in reality. Sabi sabi lang naman yung paglipat nya.
I also agree with you pwede mag apply ng amnesty, kaya lang the credit company usually require you to issue post dated checks, which I will not recommend to anonymous kse lalo pa syang mapapahamak kung tumalbog ito. As much as anonymous wanted to pay his/her debts, he/she can't kse wala syang work sa ngayon.

darlene,
the more na mabigat ang kaso nya, kasi it is an act of deceit, no offense to #50 anonymous, discussion lang tayo, but this will be the stand of the credit company. and this act could lead to a more stronger case by the company against him/her (anonymous), ika nga may tulog sya sa puntong ito. the plot thickens with him/her unable to pay dahil sa wala syang work. i suggest na lang sa kanya, try to avoid muna using other cards, kung meron pa syang ibang card, and when he/she finds work again and able to repay the debts, approach nya yung credit card company and then thats when asking for amnesty comes in. most people are unaware na when you are classified as "bad credit client" your name is in the list, and mind you di lang sa pilipinas yan, maaaring internationally pa, and this could affect everything. might even come as surprise na magulat na lang sya na di sya mabigyan kahit NBI clearance. this happened to a friend of mine. sorry darlene, but the blame should not be on the credit card companies, its open and known fact na they impose incredible and fantastic astronomous interests. nasa atin na lang talaga ang paggamit nyan, wag natin i-abuse. let it be a guide na lang na use it in emergency cases and use it wisely.

It's a sign of good faith. Atska as soon as you find a new job, avail of the amnesty, but never agree to issue postdated checks, baka ikapahamak mo pa yun. yup ang galing mo talaga MS DARLENE nacurious tuloy ako sau heheh....may friendster kb....can i invite u to be my frend.....muah thanks a lot!
mr jojo,
thanks po ulit s info....kahit ganu po b katagal pwede ko ausin ung utang ko kasi i used my card 2006 pa 2008 n ngyn but still d ko parin nagagwang bayran un ksi nga gipt ako sa pera natatakot ako baka nga kahit NBI n n ako maissuehan coz of thfrom 2006-2008 mas lumalake pa ang tubo nun db? posibleng tumutubo, kasi "active" sya e, kahit pa sabihin nating expired na ang card for usage. advice ko na lang, pag nagkaroon ka ng trabaho o kumikita ka na ulit, as an act of good faith, try mong bayaran. mahirap lang kasi baka ma-force ka ng comany to issue post dated checques, then you are obliged na wag pumalya. yun lang ang mapanghahawakan kasi nila, but insist on "amnesty", this could mean writing off the interests accrued over the years of non-payment, hahabulin lang nila ang principal amount na nagamit mo. tell them your situation, paying capabilities, maybe even tell them kung magkano lang ang sweldo mo. yung NBI thing, sa friend ko nangyari yun pero your case could be different kasi sya, talagang malaking malaki ang atraso nya, maybe yours pales in comparison.
#52 Anonymous,
posibleng tumutubo, kasi "active" sya e, kahit pa sabihin nating expired na ang card for usage. advice ko na lang, pag nagkaroon ka ng trabaho o kumikita ka na ulit, as an act of good faith, try mong bayaran. mahirap lang kasi baka ma-force ka ng comany to issue post dated checques, then you are obliged na wag pumalya. yun lang ang mapanghahawakan kasi nila, but insist on "amnesty", this could mean writing off the interests accrued over the years of non-payment, hahabulin lang nila ang principal amount na nagamit mo. tell them your situation, paying capabilities, maybe even tell them kung magkano lang ang sweldo mo. yung NBI thing, sa friend ko nangyari yun pero your case could be different kasi sya, talagang malaking malaki ang atraso nya, maybe yours pales in comparison. #52 Anonymous,
cnu po ba ang kokontakin ko ung mismong credit co or ung law firm nananakot skin.....ung sakin po kasi 9k lang ang principal n nagamit ko from 2006-2008 ang sabi umabot n ng 65k....eh napakalaki nmn po nuon i know its my obligation to pay kaso po eto nmn ang nangyare,,tapos nanakot p cla..lalo 2loy ako nagtago sa kanila ....... more often than not, its a collection agency *manned by attorneys na walang asunto*, in a way nananakot nga lang sila dahil malaki ang commission nila kapag napilit ka nilang magbayad*. suggest na you contact the credit card company instead of the "attorneys kuno"*
that's quite an interest they have imposed on you, rather unbelievable but who knows what formula they're using. anonymous,
for all you know, this collection agency lawyers are running an office that does messnegerial service too. habol lang nila ang commission na ibibigay ng credit card company. a nephew of mine works in an international bank, they offer credit cards too. when they first opened shop in philippines, maraming nag avail nung card nila not knowing those applicants were employees of another international bank, their purpose was to use up the credit limit and not pay to bring down my nephews company to its knees, but his company is still operational and still strong. it was a loss. but never heard any of those nangutang na nakulong dahil di nagbayad. One simple and practical solution to all credit card holders: starting today, gather all your cards on the table, take your sharpest scissor and cut them in pieces. A crosscut paper shredder will do the best job to deter identity theft.
Believe me I have done that , actually my brother in law did it for me. I only carry my debit card and use one dedicated card ( with lowest interest rate) for emergency use. Yes you can negotiate with the company a much lower interest rate. I have done this in the past. I try to live within my means and count my blessings. Mabuhay. Credit Cards? Ano ako poor???? Marami akong ATM cards na sya kong ginagamit sa mga malls ... he he he.
interest? sa telephone bill? i think i never heard of this, it must be a joke.
kasi po mr jojo ang tagal n d nabayan from 1998 pa 2008 na ngayn..from 4k umabot ng 20k????
pasensya na matagal akong di naka log in, busy sa trabaho.
makukuha pa rin ng friend mo na yung principal amount lang ang babayaran nya, sa maayos na pakikipag usap at sinserong pahiwatig na handa syang bayaran ang pagkakautang, menous ang tubo. alamin sana ng friend mo kung ligal ang pagpatubo ng telephone bill na iyon, dahil di pa ako nakakarinig ng ganito. wanna join the communication, i happen to have 4 credit card now
called a credit card company to apply for amnesty but they said that they're not offering it right now and that I should just pay the regular payments, i told them if I have the means to do that then I didn't call them nalang diba?
My question is, everybody's saying that Amnesty is an option but they're saying as of now, it's not. is that possible? or gumagawa lang sila ng kuwento para sila ang tatawag sa akin para matakot ako? kung di pa block listed then we can apply for other credit card and ibalance transfer doon ung credit.
Discipline will definitely give you peace of mind and declare you debt free.. godbless
